About Crystal

Crystal Ibarra, LMFT, recently joined Soledad Medical Clinic to provide behavioral health services to our community. Born and raised in Monterey County, Crystal has a strong personal connection to the region and is passionate about supporting the mental and emotional well-being of individuals and families throughout South Monterey County.

Crystal holds a Master of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and an Associate degree in Psychology. She brings approximately six years of experience in the mental health field and has worked with adolescents and adults navigating a variety of challenges and life experiences, including anxiety, depression, stress, relational concerns, and life transitions.

Crystal’s therapeutic approach is humanistic and relational, grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for each person’s unique story. She also draws from evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and systems-based approaches. This allows her to tailor therapy to the individual needs and goals of each patient.

Her goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where patients can explore their thoughts and emotions openly. Crystal believes meaningful change happens when people feel heard, understood, and empowered. She works alongside patients to build insight, develop practical tools, strengthen resilience, and move toward a more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling life.

For those who may feel hesitant about seeking therapy, Crystal emphasizes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Every therapist brings a different style and personality, and finding the right therapeutic connection is an important part of the process. She understands that opening up and accepting support takes courage and wants patients to know that it is okay to take that first step at their own pace.

Outside of work, Crystal enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, visiting the lake, spending time with family, listening to podcasts, and watching movies. She is also a first-time dog owner and hopes to eventually have her dog certified as a therapy dog to join her during in-person sessions.
